Ubuntu
I am because we are: a person becomes fully human in relationship with others.
What it commits you to
Ubuntu is a Southern African philosophy of personhood in which selfhood is constituted relationally rather than privately. Tutu used it to argue for shared responsibility over blame in the post-apartheid settlement. In governance arguments it supports treating a capability with global effects as something held in common rather than as private property.
