Mind upload

Copying a mind into a software substrate, and everything that follows from copying.

What it commits you to

A mind upload raises identity, consent and rights questions simultaneously, because it creates a second claimant to one history. Bostrom and Sandberg's roadmap treats it as an engineering programme; most philosophers treat it as an identity problem wearing engineering clothes. The duplication case is the hard one, and no proposal has dissolved it.
