Dignity
A standing that cannot be earned, lost, or traded, and so cannot be the output of an objective.
What it commits you to
Dignity is invoked as a constraint on what may be done to a being regardless of aggregate benefit, which is precisely why it is incompatible with unrestricted optimisation. It is the strongest candidate for a floor in any alignment specification, and its weakness is that it has never been given a sufficiently precise content to be enforced.
